The MiFID II directive, which came into force on 3 January 2018, is an extensive piece of legislation that affects every corner of the financial system – from banks and asset managers to brokers and wealth managers.
The legislation is a revised version of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) and Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) and reflects European authorities’ efforts to make financial markets safer, more transparent and more efficient.
